This celebratory programme marked fifty years of Intervilles and marked the occasion with a new contest between the two towns that fought out the first Intervilles Final on 20th September 1962. On that occasion, the team from Dax were victorious by a score of 11-3, securing the first ever Intervilles trophy. They went on to win the trophy on two further occasions in 1971 and 2008, whilst Saint-Amand-les-Eaux were successful in Jeux Sans Frontières, sharing the Golden Trophy with Belgian team Ciney in 1965. By beating Dax in the 2013 special, they had not only exacted a somewhat belated revenge for the events of 1962, but also won their first ever Intervilles trophy.
