Returning Teams and Competitors

Italian team Aosta had previously appeared in the summer Jeux Sans Frontières in 1975 and would compete once more later in 1979. The team also joined forces with other neighbouring ski resorts to participate in Interneige 1977 and 1980 and Jeux Sans Frontières 1988. The town of Cogne featured in the Jeux Sans Frontières competition of 1992.

Additional Information

This heat was never transmitted on French television due to a strike by television personnel during the week of intended broadcast. The programme was transmitted as normal by the other competing countries. Due to their appearance not being seen in France due to the strike, the French team of Megève were given another opportunity to participate in 1980 when they joined forces with neighbouring ski resort La Blanche.
