The Visiting Teams

The Celebrities team comprised of famous (and not-so-famous) faces from the worlds of television, film, sport and entertainment.

The Lord's Taverners are a charitable association of cricketing actors, sports people and other personalities.

Team Personnel

Celebrity participant Keith Chegwin would return in 1978 to present the winners' trophy at Blackpool in It's A Miners Knockout and again in 1982 as a guest presenter of It's A Knockout Heat 2 from Cockermouth. Chegwin would go on to host both the Knockout spin-off series Anything Goes in 1985-85 and It's A Knockout itself when it was re-launched in Great Britain by Channel 5 in 1999.

Additional Information

This competition featured members of The Lord's Taverners, a charitable association of cricketing actors, engaging in a "jocular joust for The Lord's Taverners Knockout Trophy" with other celebrities from the worlds of entertainment and sports.

Although no mention of it was made, this programme was celebrating the 100th official edition of It’s A Knockout to be held on British soil since 1966. This total was made up of 73 Domestics Heats, 12 International Heats, 2 Championship Knockouts, 7 Cup Final Knockouts, 3 Christmas programmes and 3 Celebrity Knockouts (including this one)!
