The Games
in Detail |
Game 6 -
The Brain-Washing Machine
The sixth game - 'The Brain-Washing Machine' - required a
member of each team, seated in a large chair, to sing a musical scale followed
by the song Daisy Daisy. Then a pair of large ear-shaped headphones
were placed over the competitor's head, and then had to repeat the scale and
song:
“Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do,
I'm half crazy, All for the love of you,
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I haven't got a carriage,
But you'll look sweet, up on the seat
Of a bicycle built for two!”
While attempting to sing this, the competitor's voice was being
fed back through the headphones at different speeds and at a greater volumes,
making it difficult for the singer to concentrate and keep to the tune and
remember the words.
Comments:
This game had first been played to great hilarity at the
1975 Dutch International Heat of Jeux Sans Frontières held at
Maastricht, Netherlands. |
