Additional Information

The 1976 series of Almost Anything Goes was contested over 9 heats which led to three regional finals in the South, East and West. A Final was contested by the three winning teams and a Super Final was also staged, pitching the 1976 Champions against their predecessors from 1975 and a team of Hollywood celebrities.

The regional heats were organised in such a way that each edition would feature three teams which were located within 100 miles of each other. This was decided so as to ensure that each team had travelling support and a cheering section. A stipulation of the selection process was that all cities and towns putting themselves forward for Almost Anything Goes had to boast populations no larger than 12,000. This requirement was waived on at least one occasion, as Manassas (Heat 3, East) had a population a little larger than that.
