Returning
Teams and Competitors |
Many of the Italian teams featured in Campanile Sera
returned to participate in the Jeux Sans Frontieres programme which
would begin three years later. Teams from Marostica and Acqui-Terme would
participate in the 1974 series, and ironically both notched up a win in their
respective International Heats. In that instance - and with a sense of déjà vu
- Marostica once again prevented Acqui-Terme progressing any further in that
competition, when they amassed a higher tally of points in winning their heat
(44 to Acqui-Terme's 40) and therefore went on to represent Italy in the
International Final! |
Additional Information |
By virtue of their winning four consecutive competitions including this final
programme in the series, Marostica are distinguished by being the only team in
the history of Campanile Sera never to have been beaten.
The
Marostica team's winning run at the end of the series meant that the town of
Acqui Terme, the next northern Italian team on the roster, were unable to take
part. |
