This event ended 13-10 to Sports Stars, but the teams agreed a draw.

For the period 1972-1975, the highest scoring team in the domestic It's A Knockout heats received the Radio Times Trophy, designed by cartoonist Bill Tidy. This trophy continued to be awarded in the Championship Knockout period, 1976-1982.
