Regine
Clauwaert (born 30th March 1942) was the third member of the regular team that presented Zeskamp,
seen here presenting a 1968 edition of the programme. She was also involved in
the 1970s Dutch heats of Jeux Sans Frontières.
Like her co-presenters, Dick Passchier and Barend Barendse, she went on to
forge a successful career in television, though Regine has been successful
both in front of and behind the camera. In a career lasting a remarkable
forty-six years before her retirement in April 2007, she became known as the
'grand dame' of cultural programming on Flemish television. For the last ten
years of her career, she worked as director of cultural programming at Canvas
and helped to revitalise the VRT (formerly BRT). Although the vast majority of
her work in television was with the VRT, she is also very popular in the
Netherlands, where she worked with Barend Barendse on Zo Vader Zo Zoon
among many other programmes.
